Life and death have captivated the human imagination since time immemorial. Creatives and scientists alike struggle to understand these profound and enigmatic concepts that define the very essence of what it means to be human. The delicate balance between life and death is a complex interplay that every individual must confront. Each concept is difficult to consider, as we attempt to give purpose to our lives and make meaning of our deaths. When considered together, however, a certain peaceful balance can be found that allows for a new perspective.

Diametric II is an exploration into the intricacies of the entangled relationship of life and death. Through the use of symbolism, materiality and process, an artistic response to the interconnections of these two fundamental concepts has come into existence. An understanding has been formed that not only do life and death intersect, but they are in fact interdependent and inseparable. In this world, there cannot be life without death, nor death without life. They are inextricably linked in a manner that defines the very nature of existence – and non-existence.

Life and death are held together within an eternal and cyclical system.
